Our Story
It's easy to hear stories about how long someone has lived in Whittier or why our families decided to make Whittier their home. You will also hear the different ways we can make Whittier better: improved streets, more places for kids to play, ideas about new Uptown events, and concerns about homelessness, safety, and traffic. Yet, the overriding theme is our strong sense of community, pride in our ethical leadership rooted in progress and care, our rich history, our collaboration, respect and kindness.
Whittier Together is comprised of: public servants, retired social workers, current & retired firefighters, current, and former law enforcement, media professionals, veterans (and veteran families), local business owners, non profit leaders, retired aircraft machinist, engineers, teachers, stay-at-home parents, and more. We know Whittier's future will be a safe, united community as the result of preserving Whittier's spirit and values- everything good about our community- and creating our future. Together.
